Tips & Quirky Bits
Every true tea connoisseur has their own idea as to what makes the perfect cup of tea and a sit down. Whether you like it brewed in Granny’s tea cosied teapot and sipped from the Queen’s finest bone china or you prefer to slurp it down farmer style…Here are a few simple tips to help you get the most from your tea.
THE WATER
A truly satisfying cuppa begins with the best water. Fill your kettle with cold fresh water, not water that has been previously boiled or has languished around for half the day waiting to be used! Otherwise you risk suffering through a very flat tasting cuppa indeed.
THE TEA
The best tea is the tea you like best. The amount of tea you use depends on how strong you like it and how many tea addicts you intend to share it with. We recommend one teaspoon or teabag per person or cup as the perfect fix.
STORAGE
Tea is best stored in an airtight container, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. This will keep your tea fresh and untainted from the perils of your pantry and give it a shelf life of two years.
TO MILK OR NOT TO MILK…
An age old debate. It really comes down to personal taste. Most black teas can be enjoyed with a dash of milk. Green Teas, herbal infusions, white teas and fruit teas should all be served au naturale, without milk.
